Homemade Ravioli Lasagna

IMG_E1883

I have seen this pop up on Pintrest recently and it looked amazing! So, I decide to give it my own spin and I tell you what! It did not disappoint! It was really simple and DELICIOUS!! Now I love both Lasagna and Ravioli but, putting them together took them to a whole new level! Here is what I did…

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 an Onion
  • 4 cloves of Garlic
  • 5 mushrooms
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 jar of Spaghetti sauce (I used Bertolli’s Rustic Cut Roasted Garlic Marinara with Garden Vegetables)
  • 2 10oz packages of Raviolis

  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Dried basil

Directions:

First, I browned the ground beef, Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, and garlic together.

While that is cooking, in a 9X13 baking dish, put a layer of spaghetti sauce (about half of the jar) on the bottom of the dish. add a 1 10 oz package of Raviolis in a single layer.

Add a layer of your ground beef/Italian sausage mixture.

Add a layer of Mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the process one more time. Then add a generous amount of Mozzarella cheese, so that the top is well covered. Sprinkle the top with your dried basil.

Bake at 350 degrees (176 Celsius), covered with foil for about 35 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly browned. You can also broil for a couple of minutes if your cheese isn’t getting brown enough for your liking. But be careful because broiling can burn really quickly if you aren’t watching it!

Serve with garlic bread and enjoy!

*Note, I didn’t use Ricotta cheese in mine because I used Ricotta and Spinach Raviolis. You can use any kind of Raviolis you like, and also add Ricotta if you like for a little extra!
